I’ll admit it, fine. You heard it here. This was my favorite inspiration shoot I’ve ever done.
It ignited a love of crests and customization for each wedding that I do – and continues to inspire me to this day. There were so many little details that went into this shoot and a dream team of vendors I’ll always treasure.
The palette first of all is what dreams are made of. It’s cheerful, sunny, bright and all together romantic at the same time. The use of yellow lemons paired with soft blush and green touches makes me want lemonade – stat.
Let’s start with our crest, which ended up being the centerpiece of the entire wedding. I chatted with Marla (of wallflower designs) about what she was thinking of including in her bouquet and created a custom crest for the day. I love working intimately with your florist when designing crests, it really makes a cohesive theme when you can see florals in the crest all over the actual wedding day, not to mention lemons which of course I included in the crest.
I kept the suite soft and romantic, touching the edges and the liner with the same florals used throughout the day. Some minor thing I really love to do is mix up your envelope colors. We chose soft blush for the main envelope but paired a gray with the rsvp envelope, it really tones down the invitation to invite in some masculinity to an overall feminine design.
Since I’m a lover of florals I’m naturally going to have to give you some shorts of this crazy beautiful arrangement of flowers. Marla has such a beautiful organic way of putting together the absolute best bouquets. Plus – poppies ya’ll. It’s my favorite flower and she brought them in several different colors. We put small compote vases for each guest setting so your guests could have their own little bouquet inspiration in front of them, she even made the table numbers out of real flowers.
The crest made it’s way into everything from there, we made custom pillows, table runners, even the cake. THE CAKE YA’LL.
The custom details didn’t stop there, I painted their vows in a light gray calligraphy on a scroll behind them, SO enamored with this idea.
To top it off, as if the custom details weren’t enough, their place cards were custom napkins with their florals & hand lettered names.
