When Alex of Alexandra Lee Photography approached me about another styled shoot with her, I’ll tell you I said yes yes hell yes. Everything I’ve ever done with her has been absolutely inspiring and this one blew it out of the park.
It began with a painting by Karen Kardatzke, her work is stellar, she’s a photographer that takes the most beautiful fine art shots that fit beautifully in any space, however in this case she painted acrylic on canvas for the lovely painting that became the centerpiece for this entire shoot.
My favorite part of this suite is the surprise mix of colors. I chatted a lot with Eric Cmar of Cmart Celebrations as we designed this suite together. At first, with such a bold color suite I thought to make everything bright and popping – however we settled on hand done calligraphy and to my own surprise – black! It took the suite to a level I wasn’t expecting and this has easily become one of my favorite suites in the collection today!
We had epic cake plans, but when those fell through we came up with the idea to paint some cake pops to match the painting. So I sat there with vodka and food coloring and painted up the cutest little sweet accessories, it would be adorable in a wedding!
Our escort cards are Karen’s painting divided into sections so each of your guests walk away with a piece of the art inspiration.
